Hospital La Católica opened its doors on March 16th, 1963, as a new option for private medical attention. This initiative was undertaken by a group of Franciscan sisters (Congregación Hermanas Franciscanas de la Purísima Concepción) and physicians, who believed in providing wellbeing to Costa Ricans. Over time, the Hospital became known for its exclusive care and commitment to its patients’ health and lives.
Continuous improvement is still evident today, as the Hospital modernizes its facilities and inaugurates new operating rooms and medical offices in a permanent quest for achieving the greatest satisfaction from patients and their companions alike, with a novel hospital-hotel concept for comfort. More than 800 committed employees work at Hospital La Católica to bring you holistic health care of excellent quality, based on human principles and values.
For these and many other reasons, at Hospital La Católica we will continue focusing on improving our day-to-day service, making the most of advances in medical technology and adding new specialties, all of which will continue making it a great World Class Hospital.
